Your Money and Your Life

This event is organised in co-operation with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister’s (OFMDFM) Central Anti-Poverty Unit.

The aim of the event was to focus on the important issue of financial education within the context of the UK Financial Capability Strategy and the Northern Ireland Government’s new priorities for tackling poverty and social exclusion. The full range of opinion formers and decision makers including Government, local politicians, business, financial providers, education and the voluntary and community sector all attended the event.

OFMDFM Minister, Lord Rooker flew in specially for the event and addressed the audience.  Consumer Council Chairman, Steve Costello, Steve Stillwell, the Schools Policy Specialist at the FSA and Eleanor Gill, Chief Executive of the Consumer Council all spoke at the event.

The audience watched a DVD called Money in your Life that was produced to highlight some of excellent financial education work already taking place in Northern Ireland.
