LARNE LINE TRAIN DELAY IS UNACCEPTABLE

The Consumer Council said that today’s announcement from Translink that the Larne line train service will not start on Monday is another blow to its long suffering customers on the line.

Eddie Lynch, Head of Consumer Affairs at the Consumer Council said: “We met with Translink this week and were assured that the service would begin on Monday as planned. To learn that it is to be delayed again beggars belief. As the consumer representative for train passengers, it is utterly unacceptable for Translink not to have told us that the situation had changed.

“Passengers want to have confidence in their train service and events like this can shatter that confidence. At a time when we are all trying to get people out of their cars and onto public transport, this latest delay is a real blow. Translink has a long way to go to restore public confidence in this service.”
