Northern Ireland’s consumers are being punished with rising petrol and diesel prices before there are universally available, fully accessible alternatives to the car in place, the Consumer Council has said.
The Consumer Council says a public inquiry is the only way the planning application for extending George Best Belfast City Airport’s runway (GBBCA) can be fully considered and has called for a prompt conclusion to the inquiry.
The Consumer Council has been recognised for its “proactive approach” in representing and promoting the rights of air passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility. The recognition came during the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) launch today of “Accessible Air Travel ” - a review on the first year of European regulation aimed at improving the rights of passengers with a disability or reduced mobility.
