The Consumer Council's Corporate Plan 2008-2011
The Consumer Council is delighted to present its Corporate Plan for the period 2008-2011. We really enjoyed developing the plan and our objective was to make it meaningful, forward-looking and relevant to consumers, our partners and our Government.
The Consumer Council says that the special measures being imposed by the Competition Commission on Northern Ireland banks should be applied to all banks in the UK. The comments come following the launch of a report on the UK personal current accounts market by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) which says that the market is not working well for consumers.

The Consumer Council today welcomed new legislation that will boost the rights of passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility when travelling through airports in Europe. From 26 July, airports will have to provide services that will help these passengers through each stage of their journey.
