More power to your pocket!

How would you like to trim thousands of pounds off your annual household spend?

Find out how small changes can make big savings on household bills by signing up for the Consumer Council’s free half-day workshop on Friday 21 February 2014 at the Tower Hotel, Londonderry, BT48 6HL at 9.30am until 1.00pm followed by lunch.

Shopping around, switching supplier and shopping safely online are just some of the money-saving strategies to be discussed.

The workshop is for consumers and those who work in the community, voluntary and advice sector, family workers, older people’s representatives, constituency office staff, social care workers and housing officers who provide advice and support to people, particularly those who are vulnerable.

Philippa McKeown-Brown, Head of Consumer Education at the Consumer Council said; “This is the fourth Power to the Pocket workshop we’ve done recently and participants from Newry, Banbridge and Lisburn have all said how much it’s inspired them to make changes and to help their clients find ways to cope with the rising cost of living. It’s also a great opportunity to network and pick up free consumer rights resources.”

The Consumer Council is also organising a ‘Train the Trainer’ event in Belfast on 7 March 2014 at NICVA Headquarters, 61 Duncairn Gardens, Belfast, BT15 2GB

Please book your place at either event by contacting Ronan Convery on    028 9067 4803 or email: [email protected]
