Deadline for spending

The deadline for using the Spend Local card is midnight Sunday, 19 December 2021. In this last week, you should accept a credit note/exchange where possible as refunds take time and may not be back on your card before the scheme ends.

You'll not be able to spend any balance remaining on the card after Sunday 19 December 2021.

Key dates for your diary

• 27 September 2021 – High Street Scheme portal opened.
• 4 October 2021 – First batch of cards issued.
• 11 October 2021 – Telephone service opened to support applications for consumers not able to access or use the online portal.
• 25 October 2021 – High Street Scheme online portal and telephone services closed.
• 25 October 2021 – The last qualifying date for those turning 18 to be eligible to apply for a Spend Local card.
• 12 November 2021 – Last day for applicants to provide evidence for manual processing.
• 19 December 2021 – High Street Scheme closes and the Spend Local pre-paid cards will cease to be valid.
