CONSUMER COUNCIL WELCOMES TESCO MOVE TO DROP PETROL AND DIESEL PRICES

Eleanor Gill, Chief Executive of the Consumer Council said, "The announcement by Tesco to cut the price of their petrol and diesel by three pence per litre is a welcome step for consumers, particularly at a time when we are all struggling to make ends meet. We are calling all other fuel retailers to follow suit and ensure they are giving drivers the best price possible. However we urge Tesco to take a further step and do the right thing by scrapping their local petrol pricing policy and instead offer their best price to all their customers across Northern Ireland no matter where they live."
