With another cold winter ahead and ongoing economic instability, firmus customers can rest easy that their natural gas bills will remain the same for another year.

- Consumer Council Says Ryanair Needs To Focus On Passengers
31 August 2010The Consumer Council has demanded Ryanair refund passengers due to fly on cancelled services after 30 October 2010 as quickly and simply as possible. The comments came after today’s announcement by Ryanair that it is to withdraw its London, Stansted, Liverpool, Glasgow Prestwick, East Midlands and Bristol services from George Best Belfast City Airport (GBBCA) after 30 October 2010.
- Urgent Review Of Winter Fuel Payments Needed
20 August 2010The Consumer Council says that an urgent review of the Winter Fuel Payment is needed to ensure it adequately targets consumers in fuel poverty. The comments come amid claims that the qualifying age for the payment will rise to 66 and that the amount may be cut for some consumers.
- Consumer Council Is Asking Questions On Your Behalf
19 August 2010The Consumer Council has commented on this week’s developments regarding investigations into Northern Ireland Water (NI Water). Antoinette McKeown, Chief Executive of the Consumer Council said: “These latest developments are a further blow to consumer confidence, which had already plummeted following the revelations about NI Water’s misuse of public money. Very serious questions must be answered. Earlier this week the Consumer Council asked for and has now secured a meeting with Minister Murphy and we will be pressing him with those questions on consumers’ behalf.
