Updated Consumer Council Website Goes Live
Making information consumers want clearer and easier to access has been the key aim of the new updated Consumer Council website, which has gone live.
Speaking about the new website, Aodhan O’Donnell, Interim Chief Executive of the Consumer Council said: “We are pleased to have upgraded our website and hope that it will be an even more useful resource for consumers and businesses. We have presented more prominently the information and tools we know consumers and businesses need and use most often.
“Accessibility has been at the heart of the design of the new website. We have consulted and tested the new website with consumers and with disability groups to ensure it is accessible and user friendly and that it will appeal to the broad range of consumers in Northern Ireland. We have also made it easier for people whose first language isn’t English to access information on our core services.
“Recognising how widely consumers use their phones for online searching these days, we have also ensured our updated website is more compatible with mobile browsers. This will help consumers who often need information on the go, whether it’s about your rights when returning a faulty good or if a flight is cancelled,” concluded Aodhan.
The Consumer Council website includes information and resources ranging from passengers’ travel rights, a water usage calculator for businesses, electricity and gas price comparison tables, guides to opening and switching bank accounts, home budget planners as well as an A-Z search facility.
