Consumer Council helps ease the burden of ‘Summer Getaway’ disruption

Consumer Council helped over 100 travellers get back £58,000

The Consumer Council is reminding consumers that they are here to help with travel complaints after assisting over 100 travellers last year get back £58,000 in goodwill gestures and compensation for disrupted travel plans. 


The Consumer Council can deal with a range of travel issues to including delayed or cancelled flights or sailings, unclear fare information and lost or damaged luggage.


Jenny Robinson, Transport Policy Officer at the Consumer Council said “As the busy summer holiday period gets underway it is important that travellers know their passenger rights and responsibilities and likewise know who to turn to for help with any unresolved complaints.”
