Consumer Council drop-in information session at Castlederg Library.
The Consumer Council is running a drop-in event in Castlederg Library on Thursday 16 February for local consumers who have been affected by recent bank branch closures in the area.
Staff from the Consumer Council will provide information about managing their bank account, switching, making payments, banking safely as well as answering any queries.
Speaking about the event, Maeve Holly, Senior Policy Officer at the Consumer Council said: “The way we bank has been changing in recent years and many consumers are now choosing to use different ways to bank, such as online or telephone banking. However, some people still value face-to-face contact. Since 2010, we have seen almost a third of bank branches close in Northern Ireland. We are running this information session to help local consumers get the best from their bank account.”

Time: 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm
Venue: Castlederg Library, 1 Hospital Road, Castlederg
Paul Kelly, Senior Information and Learning Services Manager with Libraries NI, adds: “One of the aims of Libraries NI is to promote key information services to the public, so by hosting these drop-in sessions in libraries with the Consumer Council, we are giving people access to key banking information.”
