The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment is seeking to appoint five new board members to the Board of the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland (CCNI). The role is a rewarding one – and you will be offered support and any training you’ll need to make a strong contribution.
In response to the Airports Commission’s recommendation the UK’s air travel needs will be best served by building a third runway at Heathrow Airport, the Consumer Council has today stressed the need for Northern Ireland consumers to have guaranteed access to Heathrow, the UK’s hub airport, both now and in future.
John French is joining the Consumer Council as its new Chief Executive on 1st July 2015. John joins the Consumer Council from firmus energy where he was Director of Regulation and Pricing.
Continuing its campaign to help businesses make sure they aren’t paying more for their water than necessary, the Consumer Council has recently helped two NI supermarkets get over £5000 back on their water bills.
The Consumer Council has welcomed new UK wide guidelines which should see NI shoppers benefit from clearer, up front information on parcel delivery charges. This means they will no longer have to wait until the end of the purchasing process to find out if they will be hit with high charges or be left facing the prospect of no delivery at all.
