The Young Consumers Competition (YCC) is organised jointly by Trading Standards Service and the Consumer Council and aims to raise young people’s awareness of their consumer rights and responsibilities.

YCC Quiz Final

Antrim Grammar Schools emerged the winners of the 2008 Young Consumers Competition (YCC) in what can only be described as a nail biting affair. They fought off tough competition from Aquinas Grammar School, Belfast (second place), Loreto College Omagh (third place) and Lumen Christi College, Derry who came fourth.  Along with individual prizes, the winners scooped £500 for their school and a silver trophy.  The quiz had seven rounds ending with the eagerly anticipated buzzer round and with only a few points separating the teams in the dying minutes of the quiz, there was everything to play for.
