This activity provides and introduction for students to understand the complexity involved in the decisions businesses need to make. These issues often arise when business needs to balance the needs of various groups such as their employees, consumers and often the demands of government in areas such as the environment. This series of activities could not cover all syllabus content but is intended to provide a starting point for this topic area.


This activity extends the initial lesson 'How do businesses behave', providing students with the opportunity to explore environmental issues based around sustainable development. These days' consumers and governments are demanding that businesses operate in a more responsible and environmentally friendly way.
Disposing of waste responsibly, energy/resource conservation; using recycled materials in the manufacturing of products and anti pollution measures are all important issues for businesses, given the current trends in corporate responsibility and environmental awareness.
