These activities are designed to get students thinking about the issues around energy needs, use and conservation. It will allow them to consider how consumers can make a difference to energy consumption. It also explores alternative sources of energy in the home. This could be linked to living independently, and how they might manage their own fuel costs.


These activities use the context of a proposed out of town shopping centre to examine how consumer activities impact on the environment and in addition how consumers through their actions can exercise influence. It allows pupils to consider how consumers' needs are to be represented in a democracy and the rights and responsibilities of consumers in this context.(Key Stage 3/4).
