The Under-12 football team, coach and I were returning from a tournament in England. Our flight from Liverpool back to Belfast was cancelled. There were 28 of us altogether and the majority spent the night in the airport waiting to the following day to get another flight. When we got home we had to pay for another coach. I found out that the Consumer Council could help and got in touch with them.
- The Consumer Council investigated and negotiated with the airline on behalf of all involved.
- The airline awarded compensation of almost €7,000 (€250 to each of the party involved).
