Food Legislation
There are stringent controls on the safety of food in Northern Ireland. For example, most prepackaged food has to be labelled with the contents and nutritional information and it is an offence to sell unfit food. The most important piece of Food Legislation is:
Guidance Notes on the Food Safety (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 and the General Food Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004
