Energy Efficiency Regulations

A range of requirements now apply to consumer goods which use energy - electricity, gas, oil etc.

Generally the consumer should now see a label with an energy efficiency rating usually A,B,C,D,..G where A is better than B etc. This labelling is now required to be displayed on Fridges, Freezers, Cookers (electric), dishwashers, tumble driers (electric) and electric lamps.

Central heating boilers must operate above a minimum efficiency and be CE marked.

The Miles Per Gallon of new cars has to be displayed.

Traders, including retailers, who do not adhere to the Regulations can commit offences.
