Relevant Legislation

Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992

These Regulations control the sale and performance of package travel. Certain information must be given to consumers when they buy a package (this includes the information which should be included in brochures) and restrictions are placed on price changes. The Regulations also outline the circumstances under which consumers can claim compensation from tour operators.

Finally, it is a legal requirement for the tour operator to show that in the event of insolvency, arrangements are in place to repatriate consumers.
